UN experts have reported a "campaign of destruction" by Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against non-Arab communities in and near El Fasher in October 2025, which bears the "hallmarks of genocide." This destruction followed the RSF taking control of El Fasher, the last stronghold of the government in Darfur, leading to fears of a "human rights catastrophe" and ongoing reports of attacks and atrocities.
